[origin: WO2012119577A1] The invention relates to a fuel tank for motor vehicles and provides a ventilation and cooling system for a fuel tank for use in hybrid vehicles, which cools the fuel in a fuel tank in an especially advantageous manner in order to prevent evaporation of fuel. For that purpose an absorption refrigerator is provided, wherein the thermal energy for operating the refrigerator is obtained from the exhaust gas heat of a combustion engine or from the combustion of fuel vapour that is discharged from the fuel tank.
