[origin: WO2012116455A2] The twist lock cylinder has a cylinder housing (2), a cylinder core (3), and tumblers (4), each of which includes a core pin (6) and a housing pin (5). The tumblers (4) are guided within bores (7, 8, 14) of the cylinder housing (2) and of the cylinder core (3) and can be put in place by a key (13) that is inserted into a keyway (9). On its outer face (10), the cylinder core (3) has at least one insert (11) that forms a segment of the cylinder core (3) from a cross-sectional perspective. The insert (11) is made of a material that is significantly harder than brass. Preferably, the insert (11) is floatingly mounted. The cylinder core (3) cannot be twisted by an unauthorized key (13) even when the cylinder core (3) is negatively locked by only one incremental step.
