[origin: EP2682034A2] The vacuum cleaner has a device for adjusting a blower output of a suction blower arranged in the vacuum cleaner, and an acceleration sensor (22), which is mounted on or in a handle element (16) of the vacuum cleaner. The rotation of the handle element is detected with the acceleration sensor. Another acceleration sensor is attached to a suction nozzle or is integrated in the suction nozzle. A logic unit is provided for processing an acceleration measurement value provided by the acceleration sensor. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a vacuum cleaner.
