Abstract (en)

The problem addressed is recording in a manner such that glossiness is sufficient. As a means for solving the problem, an inkjet recording device (1) is provided with: a carriage (4) capable of moving in a principal scanning direction (S); an inkjet head (5) that is mounted on the carriage (4) and discharges ink drops; an ultraviolet illumination device (6) that is mounted on the carriage and projects ultraviolet rays; and an air-aspirating means (12, or 18) for aspirating air on the media (M) side, or a ventilation means (14, or 16) for blowing gas toward the media (M) side. Therein, the ultraviolet illumination device (6) has a plurality of UVLEDs (63) arranged in the secondary scanning direction (F) in a recess (62) formed in the underside surface thereof, and has a plate-shaped partition (64) extending in the principal scanning direction between neighboring UVLEDs (63) . When recording with clear ink, UVLEDs (63e-63h), which project ultraviolet rays on a band corresponding to the location of a second discharge region (A2) of the inkjet head (5) for discharging clear ink, are turned off. As a result, it is possible to record in a glossy manner.
