[origin: EP2682572A1] The lubrication system has a storage element (4) provided between a pump (1) and a lubricant injection element (6) in a connecting line (2). The connecting line is provided for supplying lubricant to the lubricant injection element. A throttle element (3) is arranged between the pump and the lubricant injection element. The storage element has a chamber for receiving a lubricant quantity corresponding to the maximum demand of a lubrication point. An adjusting element is provided in the throttle element for varying the flow cross-section. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an internal combustion engine with a cylinder jacket of a cylinder for defining a cylinder space; and (2) a method for lubricating a piston-cylinder unit of an internal combustion engine.
