[origin: EP2682820A2] An optical writing controller (120) that forms an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductor (109) by controlling a LEDA (130) includes a resolution controller (123) that acquires information on resolution of the electrostatic latent image and calculates requisite amount of light as exposure intensity per pixel based on requisite exposure intensity per unit area on the photoconductor (109) and the information on resolution, an emission time controller (124) that acquires information on luminous efficiency and calculates a line period emission time in which the LEDA (130) emits light in one line period based on the calculated exposure intensity per pixel and the information on luminous efficiency, and a light emitting controller (122) that controls emitting of the LEDA (130) based on the calculated line period emission time.
