The activation unit (1) has a pyrotechnic gas generator and a drive unit for conversion of flow of gas into a rotational motion of a rotor shaft (3) upon activation of the gas generator, where the drive unit is located in active connection with the pyrotechnic gas generator. The drive unit is arranged in the flow direction of the effluent gas, where a nozzle is provided with a flow channel for directing the gas stream to an impeller connected with the rotor shaft.

Abstract (de)

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Aktivierungseinheit für ein Sicherungssystem eines Kraftfahrzeuges, mit einem pyrotechnischen Gasgenerator sowie einer mit dem pyrotechnischen Gasgenerator in Wirkverbindung befindlichen Antriebseinheit zur Umwandlung des bei einer Aktivierung des Gasgenerators austretenden Gasstroms in eine Rotationsbewegung einer mit dem Sicherheitssystem verbindbaren Rotorwelle. Um eine Aktivierungseinheit bereit zu stellen, welche besonders kompakt aufgebaut ist und dabei eine hohe Antriebsleistung auf weist, ist vorgesehen, dass die Antriebseinheit eine in Strömungsrichtung des austretenden Gases angeordnete Düse mit mindestens einem Strömungskanal zur Lenkung des Gasstroms auf ein mit der Rotorwelle verbundenes Schaufelrad aufweist.
