[origin: EP2687121A1] The applicator (4) has protrusions comprising a first straight protrusion having a longitudinal axis oriented along a first radial direction of a core. A second bent protrusion comprises a base portion that extends from the core and includes another longitudinal axis oriented along a second radial direction of the core. An end portion extends from the base portion and includes a third a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first protrusion. An end of the core is attached to an applicator rod (16). An independent claim is also included for an applicator assembly.
