Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012126028A2] In a device for cooling chisels on cutting heads (1, 2) that are mounted on a pivotable cutter bar (6) so as to be rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis (5) lying transversely to the longitudinal direction of said cutter bar (6) by means of water nozzles, wherein a cutting head (1, 2) is mounted on each side of the cutter bar (6), said cutting head (1, 2) being equipped with chisels (3), wherein the cutter bar (6) is in the form of a transmission extension (7) at its free end arranged between the two cutting heads (1, 2), and wherein a nozzle carrying element (8) is arranged on the cutter bar (6), said nozzle carrying element (8) carrying two groups of nozzles for each cutting head (1, 2), the nozzles (10, 11, 12, 13) of a first group of which are arranged between the cutting heads (1, 2) in the region of the transmission extension (7) and the nozzles (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22) of a second group of which are arranged behind the cutting heads (1, 2), the nozzles both of the first group and of the second group each have a spray axis that is directed laterally towards the outside and is directed away from the mid-plane (27) that extends perpendicularly to the rotation axis (5) between the cutting heads (1, 2), and have an exit angle (a) such that the spray cones of adjacent nozzles overlap each other before striking the working face.
