[origin: WO2012127168A1] The present invention relates to a method for refining the results of a search for objects in a database in which the objects are each related to descriptors, comprising the steps aiming to: - present a user with a set of objects associated with a means for the user to signal its relevance and/or its non-relevance with respect to his search - as a function of the signalling, assign at least one weight to the descriptors of an object presented considered by the user to be relevant and/or non-relevant, - calculate a resultant of the weight associated with each descriptor of the set of objects, - initialize a relevance index for each object, - compare each object, and for each descriptor of the object compared, modify the relevance index as a function of the weight of this descriptor in the resultant, - present the result objects in the order of their relevance index.
