Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2689870A2] Device comprises a revolving ingot mold which is provided with at least one rotating molding tool. The rotating molding tool comprises a plate chain (1) comprising individual panels (2) which are pivotally connected to one another and have supports made of copper and steel and mold shells (3) which determine the outer peripheral shape of the strand sections. The panels form interconnected legs extending hingedly along the joints (6) between the mold shells. The mold shells hold a groove on mutually opposite abutment surfaces (10) and a spring engaging into the groove.
