Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2692916A2] The method involves rotating a spinning rotor (16) by an electrical single drive (20) arranged in a drive housing (15). A rotor shaft (11) is supported by a magnetic bearing arrangement (21). A rotor housing (9) is loaded with low pressure during spinning process, where the shaft is extended through a connection opening (17). The drive housing is loaded with pressurized air during the process and during interruption of the process. Static high pressure is produced in the drive housing opposite to ambient pressure during the process, where the opening is sealed by a labyrinth seal (18). The labyrinth seal is designed as a contactless shaft seal. An independent claim is also included for a rotor spinning machine.
