Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012139856A1] The invention relates to a wheel bearing assembly of a vehicle whose hub is mounted in a wheel carrier via a roller bearing arrangement and has a driver flange having a bearing face which is perpendicular to the rotational axis of the wheel, for a wheel, if appropriate with intermediate positioning of a brake disc, wherein the bearing face of the driver flange describes a plane which intersects the roller bearing arrangement. In this context, the hub forms or supports an inner ring of the roller bearing arrangement, while an outer ring is held in the wheel carrier, and a supporting structure for the driver flange on the outside of the wheel bearing assembly, facing away from the vehicle body, is made to extend around the roller bearing arrangement. As a result, a pressing-in depth of the order of magnitude of zero or several millimetres can be achieved with a customary wheel rim.
