[origin: WO2012139684A1] Apparatus and method for the open jet filling of bottles or similar containers (2) with liquid contents using a circulating filling machine in the case of which a rotor (6), which can be driven in circulation about a vertical machine axis (MA), has formed on it filling stations (5, 5a) each with a filling element (1) and a container carrier (3), on which the container (3) is retained in each case, by way of its container opening (2.1), at a distance beneath a dispensing opening (1.1) of the filling element (1), and therefore the contents, which are dispensed in a controlled manner by the filling element (1), flow to the container opening (2.1) in an open filling jet (4) during the filling process. In order to compensate for deflection of the filling jet (4) by the gravitational force acting thereon, there is controlled relative movement between the filling element (1) and the container (2).
