[origin: EP2698587A1] The ice flakes producing device has a cooling roller (17) that is rotatably mounted in a tub (15). A gas supply portion (25) is provided in the tub for foaming of the liquid in the tub. The liquid is mixed with foam agent and water. A metering device (19,24) is provided for metering the predetermined ratio of the water and foaming agent introduced in the tub. The cooling roller is partially immersed in the liquid. An independent claim is included for a method for producing ice flakes.
