[origin: WO2012143500A1] In a method for preferably quantitatively detecting partially fluorinated surfactants, which in particular are contained in wastewater, clarification sludges and the like, first the partially fluorinated surfactant is brought together in solution or suspension with at least one chromophore or with at least one compound having at least one chromophore, and the product of interaction between the partially fluorinated surfactant and the chromophore that is obtained in such a way is photometrically identified. The partially fluorinated surfactant is preferably the perfluorinated alkyl sulfonate H4- perfluorooctane sulfonate (H4-PFOS). The product of interaction between the perfluorinated surfactant and the chromophore is preferably converted to an organic phase for the photometric identification.
