Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012143620A1] The method of manufacturing a composite insulator (1) for very high, high or medium voltage, comprising an insulating core (2) made of a synthetic material reinforced with glass fibres based on a mixture of a resin and of a hardener and an envelope (3) made of an elastomer material which vulcanizes at high temperature and surrounds said core (2), comprising at least the steps consisting in; choosing (41) a composition of mixture in such a way as to obtain a glass transition temperature for said synthetic material which is greater than the vulcanization temperature of said elastomer material, and vulcanizing (45) said envelope (3) of elastomer material on said core (2) of synthetic material.
