Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012146403A1] The invention relates to a method for mounting a pedal (3) in a vehicle, including a mounting (2) on which the pedal (3) is mounted via a rotational axle (4), a shearing means (5) connected to a stationary bodywork element of said vehicle, said shearing means (5) being capable of radially shearing said axle (4) in the event of a movement of said mounting (2) relative to said bodywork element so as to disconnect said pedal (3) from said mounting (2). The main characteristic of the device of the invention is that it includes a receiving means (17) arranged near the axle (4) of the pedal (3) in the normal position thereof (21), said means being capable of receiving said axle (3) after the latter is sheared such that the pedal (3) can assume a second position (22) adjacent to the normal position, wherein said second position (22) enables the pedal to always be actuated in order to at least partially ensure the initial function thereof.
