[origin: WO2012150288A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a cooling-duct piston (1') for an internal combustion engine, composed of a piston upper part (2) and a piston lower part (3), wherein the piston upper part (2) is detachably connected to the piston lower part (3), and in the region between the piston upper part (2) and piston lower part (3) there is formed a cooling duct (4) which is charged with coolant via at least one inlet opening (5) during the operation of the cooling-duct piston (1, 1') and out of which coolant flows again via at least one outlet opening (14). It is provided according to the invention that, in a first method step, the piston upper part (2) is detached from the piston lower part (3), such that the piston upper part (2) is separate from the piston lower part (3), and subsequently a ring (9) which has at least one discharge opening (19), preferably at least one nozzle-shaped opening, is fastened to the inlet opening (5), and finally the piston upper part (2) and the piston lower part (3) are connected to one another again, wherein it remains possible for the cooling duct (4) to be charged with coolant via the inlet opening (5). The invention also relates to a cooling-duct piston (1') for an internal combustion engine.
