[origin: WO2012152489A1] The invention relates to a motor vehicle control device, in particular a hybrid control device, to which further control-side units (11, 12, 13) can be connected by means of at least one data bus (10), wherein the control device (8) comprises at least one interface by means of which data can be exchanged between the control device (8) and interfaces of the further control-side units (11, 12, 13) such that data can be exchanged directly between the control device (8) and the further control-side units (11, 12, 13) and indirectly between the further control-side units (11, 12, 13) by means of the control device (8), wherein compatible interface indices are stored in the control device for the interface of same and for the interfaces of the further control-side units (11, 12, 13) that can be connected to same by means of at least one data bus (10), and wherein the control device (8) reads in the interface indices of the further control-side units (11, 12, 13) at or after each start of the motor vehicle or when initiated by a diagnostic device (14) that can be connected to the control device by means of the data bus, compares said interface indices to the compatible interface indices stored in the control device, and generates an error message if a deviation from the stored interface indices is determined for at least one interface index that has been read in.
