The method involves arranging a locking mechanism (13) formed of multiple components (11) in a housing (10) during the installation. The component areas (14) located at the component are separated. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Montage eines Schlosses (1) mit einem Gehäuse (10) sowie ein Schloss (1) hergestellt nach diesem Verfahren, wobei bei der Montage eine aus mehreren Bauteilen (11, 12) ausgebildete Schließmechanik (13) im Gehäuse (10) angeordnet wird, und wobei die Montage wenigstens den Schritt des Abtrennens zumindest eines an wenigstens einem Bauteil (11, 12) angeordneten Bauteilbereiches (14, 15) umfasst.
