[origin: WO2012152863A2] The invention relates to a modular carrying system, comprising at least the following system components: a) a protective vest (2) having at least one back part (6) and means (7, 8) for attachment to a human upper body, b) a hip belt (3), c) a carrying device (4) for filling with loads to be carried, wherein the carrying device (4) comprises shoulder carrying straps (4a) for attachment to a human upper body, and d) a housing (5) for accommodating an electronic unit, wherein the housing (5) can be attached to the back of the protective vest (2). The hip belt (3) comprises a connecting element (10) in order to connect the protective vest (2) without interposing the housing (5). The connecting element (10) is designed to transmit weight forces from the protective vest (2) to the hip belt (3).
