Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012152626A2] A method for actuating the band driving device of a strapping machine in the event of band loss has the following method steps: interrogating a detector (16) about correct insertion of the strapping band (7) in the insertion direction (E) up to the end of the insertion path, in the event of incorrect insertion of the strapping band (7), activating the insertion-return unit (8) in order to return the strapping band (7) at a defined return speed over a defined return time, such that the strapping band (7) has emerged from the insertion-return unit (8) counter to the insertion direction (E), and actuating the drive of the tensioning unit (9) such that the tensioning unit (9) transports the strapping band (7) back into the insertion-return unit (8) in the insertion direction (E).
