Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012154784A2] An optical equipment assembly comprising an extension structure for a fiber optic housing is disclosed. An attachment mechanism extends from the extension structure and is adapted to removably attach the extension structure to the fiber optic housing. The attachment mechanism comprises a flange having a spring plunger extending there through and fasteners holes for receiving fasteners. The attachment mechanism inserts inside a side wall of the housing. The spring plunger releasably maintains the extension structure in a position to allow fasteners to removably attach the extension structure to the housing. The housing maintains an installed U, or vertical, rack space the housing occupied prior to the extension structure being removably attached to the housing.
