[origin: EP2708218A1] The wheelchair (1) has wheels (3) that are rotatably attached at a base frame (2). A backrest portion (7) is connected with a seat surface (6). The seat surface is moved along forward and backward directions with respect to the base frame by a slewing mechanism. The seat surface is set approximately parallel to a starting position, during movement of the seat surface by the slewing mechanism with respect to the base frame.
