[origin: EP2708336A1] The device (1) has a cutting device provided with a rocker (9). A rotatable drive circle knife (11) rotates around a rotational axis (8) of the rocker. A feed device places a bread loaf in an inlaid region (2) of the cutting device. An end of the bread loaf is fixed with the cutting device. The rotatable drive circle knife is arranged in an inner space rocker housing, where thickness of the rocker housing is greater than 15 mm. The rocker housing and the circle knife are overlapped in a thickening region.
