[origin: EP2708337A1] The method involves locating a cutting unit between the insert portion (2) and a discharge area. A nascent or pre-cut disc is supported by a support arranged in a position of a support element at a base. The support element is displaced from the supporting position into a release position by a rocker (9) along the cutting slot. The cut slices are collected in the discharge area. The support element is elastically deformed at a transition from the supporting position to the release position of the rocker. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for cutting bread loaf in disc shape.
