[origin: EP2708439A1] The method involves applying a signal term at a track-side coupling circuit (6). A point data transmission device is operated by a track-side arranged electronic control unit. A test signal is fed into the coupling circuit by an inductive coupling by the control unit. A response signal, which is modified relative to the test signal based on the applied signal term, is read by the inductive coupling by the control unit. The applied signal term is extracted from the modified signal. A telegram corresponding to the extracted signal term is processed and transmitted by the transmission device. The point data transmission device is a European train control system (ETCS)-transparent data-track antenna. An independent claim is also included for a system for processing a signal term for transmission to a rail vehicle.
