[origin: EP2708686A1] The lock has a latch (6) moveably guided in a housing, where a locking cylinder and a locking lug (10) are arranged in the housing. The latch is movable between open and closing positions. The latch is driven under normal conditions by a pivotal lever (11) of the closing unit, where the pivotal lever is rotatably mounted around a rotational axis (15). The pivotal lever is driven in a panic case of the latch. The pivotal lever and the closing unit are translatorily movable relative to each other in the panic case. The pivotal lever comprises an oblong hole. An independent claim is also included for a method for operation of a panic lock.
