[origin: WO2012156868A1] The invention proposes a composter for an apartment, which avoids the presence of flies in the apartment, which avoids the problem of clutter and which can be adapted to most city apartments which have railings on windows or on balconies. For this purpose, the subject matter of the invention is an organic waste composter comprising a reservoir tank and at least one composting tank which can be positioned above the reservoir tank. The reservoir tank comprises a rigid bottom which has, on an external face of said bottom, a groove which is substantially vertical relative to the position of use, capable of accepting a part of a railing so as to fit the composter over the railing.
