[origin: EP2711600A2] The heat accumulator (1) has a pressure vessel (4) which is arranged with heat storage material (3). The thermal insulating layer (2) is arranged between heat storage material and pressure vessel wall (7). The thermally insulating layer is made of insulating material having porosity from 20-80 volume percent. The insulating material is maintained at temperature up to 650[deg] C in solid form. The insulating material is made of expanded clay, expanded glass, foam glass, expanded shale, crushed bricks, blast furnace slag, sintered fly ash, expanded perlite, pumice or lava slag.
