[origin: EP2712726A1] The press (1) has an electric machine (3) i.e. permanent-magnet synchronous motor, for driving a pressing rotor (2), and comprising a rotor (5) and a stator that is provided with multiple segments, where the stator is a primary part of the electric machine. The electric machine is mechanical-rigidly coupled with the pressing rotor without shafts, and comprises a disk-shaped air gap and a cylindrical air gap. The segments consist of electrical terminals and are circularly arranged. The pressing rotor and the rotor comprise a common bearing (14).
