The printing device has a printhead (46',46'') whose rotatable cylinder (42) transports the printing on mediums (40). The cylinder is provided with a gripping device for a front edge of the printing on mediums in rotation direction. A motor is adapted to rotate the cylinder. A contact structure (38) is adapted to exactly position the medium relative to printhead before printing. A peeling device (52) is adapted to peel the front edge of the medium after the start of printing. A pressure controller (48) is adapted to actuate the printhead as function of the transportation of medium. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) printing system for a topcoat; and (2) topcoat printing method.

Eine Druckvorrichtung für einen Decklack umfasst wenigstens einen ortsfest angebrachten Druckkopf (46', 46") vom Tintenstrahl-Typ mit wenigstens einer Zeile von Düsen; einen in Bezug auf den Druckkopf drehbaren Zylinder (42) für den Transport eines Bedruckmediums (40) am Druckkopf vorbei während des Druckvorgangs, wobei der Zylinder eine Greifvorrichtung für eine in Drehrichtung vordere Kante des Bedruckmediums aufweist; einen Motor (M) für die Drehung des Zylinders; eine Anlagestruktur (38) für die positionsgenaue Anlage des Bedruckmediums in Bezug auf den Druckkopf vor Druckbeginn; eine Vorrichtung (52) zum Ablösen der vorderen Kante des Bedruckmediums nach dem Druckbeginn; und eine Drucksteuerung (48) für das Ansteuern des Druckkopfes in Abhängigkeit vom Transport des Bedruckmediums.
