The insulating element has a main portion that is provided with parallel major surfaces (1.1) arranged perpendicular to the side surfaces. A weakened material is provided vertical to the major surfaces. The predetermined breaking point of weakened material is provided in the form of a slit (2.1) and perforation (2.2). The weakened material is arranged parallel to the side surfaces. The weakened material is formed to extend diagonally from one or both major surfaces. The weakened material is formed like a grid. An independent claim is included for a method for producing an insulating element.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Dämmstoffelement (1) aus gebundenen Dämmstofffasern, welches einen Körper mit zwei im Wesentlichen parallel zueinander angeordneten großen Oberflächen (1.1) und rechtwinklig zu diesen angeordnete Seitenflächen aufweist. Um ein solches Dämmstoffelement (1) leichter an individuelle räumliche Gegebenheiten anpassen zu können, schlägt die Erfindung vor, dass das Dämmstoffelement (1) im Wesentlichen senkrecht zu den großen Oberflächen (1.1) eine oder mehrere Materialschwächungen (2) aufweist.
