[origin: EP2713058A1] The head (200) has a pump housing (202) in which an annular channel is formed, and an axial inlet port (204) comprising an end facing away from the annular channel with smaller diameter than another end of the annular channel. A flange (210) fixes the pump head to a pump housing. Housing ribs (222, 228) are formed on opposite side of the pump head. Axially extending support ribs (226) are formed on outer circumference of the inlet port. The axial support ribs at the intake connecting piece are extended to the housing ribs. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pump head for a centrifugal pump.
