[origin: EP2716882A1] The drive has a cam assembly (12) comprising a camshaft (14) and a cam (16) for a gas exchange valve (18). An intermediate lever assembly (26) comprises an intermediate lever (28) with a working curve (30) having curve portions. A valve lift adjustment assembly (24) shifts a valve (22) between a zero lift and a maximum lift. A drag lever assembly (32) is in operative connection with the working curve, and a device provides a valve-lift standstill range such that the valve is opened for a turning angle of the camshaft with a flattened valve lift height in a maximum lift position. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
