Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2717008A2] The industrial furnace (1.1) comprises an inlet lock (2) that is sealed from the environment by a first gastight closure unit. A second gastight closure unit is arranged between a heat treatment chamber and a quenching device. The gas pressure of the protective gas is maintained in the heat treatment chamber during loading and discharging of the charge (5). The quenching device is formed with an output gate so that the heat treatment chamber is locked separately through the second gastight closure unit.
