[origin: WO2012167874A1] The invention relates to a spreader device, in particular for winter road service vehicles, for applying spreading material comprises a spreading material container, a dispersing unit and a spreading material conveyor section arranged between the spreading material container and the dispersing unit. The dispersing unit comprises a rotary spreading plate (3) and a central mixing chamber (4) into which the spreading material conveyor section opens. The mixing chamber (4) comprises a rotating mixing base (5) and a non-rotating border (6) with a lateral wall (7) extending around the rotational axis (1) of the mixing base and an upper covering part (8). The lateral wall (7) has an outlet opening (9). At least adjacent to the lateral wall (7), the upper covering part (8) undergoes a change in height above the mixing base (5) circumferentially.
