Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012171619A1] The invention relates to a tank (30) for an operating medium of a motor vehicle, having a receiving chamber (36) for the operating medium and having a curved suction extraction line (32) for the suction extraction of the operating medium, which suction extraction line extends through a base wall (38) of the tank (30) and forms a first flow duct (46) which, in the receiving chamber (36), issues into a suction intake opening (42) directed toward the base wall (38), wherein in the tank (30) there is formed a further flow duct (48) which fluidically communicates with the receiving chamber (36) and with the first flow duct (46) and which has a higher flow resistance than the first flow duct (46). During normal operation of the motor vehicle, oil flows predominantly through the streamlined circular flow duct (46), whereas during an oil change, the slot-like flow duct (48) is also utilized such that the oil in the oil tank (30) can be substantially completely withdrawn.
