[origin: WO2012172041A1] The present invention relates to a method for storing data on a storage medium having a controller, an interface and a memory area for storing data, wherein the data is stored in clusters. According to the invention, the controller assigns each of the individual clusters to one of at least two different cluster types, different cluster types having different access protection. The controller grants accesses to an unprotected cluster type. It restricts accesses to a protected cluster type by not displaying write-protected clusters to a terminal device or displaying them as occupied, if a predetermined authentication is absent, and denies write access in the event of a write access at the interface level. It additionally restricts read accesses to a protected cluster type by not displaying read-protected clusters to a terminal device if a predetermined authentication is absent, and outputs an error message or dummy data in the event of a read access at the interface level.
