Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2013020999A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for sorting objects according to predetermined groups of sorting feature values, in particular sorting postal items according to groups of delivery addresses. A sorting system sorts the objects into a sequence in such a manner that all objects whose sorting feature values belong to the same predetermined value group are situated one directly behind another in this sequence. The sorting system comprises x1 storage subregions (X1(1),..., X1(x1)), x2 sorting subregions (X2(1),..., X2(x2)) and a sorting plan (SE). The objects are apportioned to the x1 storage subregions (X1(1),..., X1(x1)). For each storage subregion (X1(1),..., X1(x1)), an apportionment step is then carried out, in which the objects from this storage subregion are apportioned to the x2 sorting subregions (X2(1),..., X2(x2)). The apportionment steps are performed one after the other. After each apportionment step, a sorting and output step is carried out for each sorting subregion (X2(1),..., X2(x2), in which the objects from this sorting subregion (X2(1),..., X2(x2)) are brought into a sequence in accordance with the sorting feature values and this sequence is output.
