[origin: WO2012175893A1] The invention relates to a tyre including at most 30 channels (23A, 23B) distributed substantially evenly around the circumference of the tyre. Each channel (23A, 23B) is arranged so as to fulfil the following conditions beyond a predetermined wear threshold: A) the channel (23A, 23B) is leads into a design element of the tyre, and B) the channel (23A, 23B) includes an opening (36A) that radially opens to the outside of the tyre (10) and is defined by at least two ridges (34A) capable of engaging with the ground upon becoming part of the contact area between the tyre (10) and the ground, the circumferential distance (LcA) separating the ridges (34A) from one another being no less than 2 mm and preferably 4 mm, wherein below the predetermined threshold, the channel does not fulfil at least one of conditions A and B.
