[origin: WO2012177331A1] [0028] A subsea mudlift pump includes a pressure sealed housing disposed in a body of water in which a wellbore is being drilled by a drilling rig disposed above the surface of the body of water. A motor (44) is configured to generate linear motion is coupled to at least one piston (46) disposed within the housing such that operation of the mo¬ tor causes linear motion of the piston within the housing. One side of the piston is within a pumped fluid chamber that changes volume when the piston is moved within the housing.
