Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013001015A1] This underwater vehicle (2) for cleaning submerged surfaces comprises a chassis and at least one brush (16, 18) for cleaning the surface that is to be cleaned and rotationally driven by a motor about an axis of rotation of this brush (16, 18). The brush (16, 18) is able to move, with respect to a fixed part of the vehicle (2), in a translational movement along its axis of rotation so that it can be pressed firmly against the surface that is to be cleaned under the effect of a vacuum created by the rotation of the brush (16, 18). The brush (16, 18) comprises a rotation shaft (161, 181) inserted in a sleeve (163, 183) that rotates as one with the brush (16, 18) and is driven in rotation by a drive system (165, 185, 200, 202). The brush (16, 18) rotates as one with the sleeve (163, 183) because of fingers (190) fixed to the sleeve and inserted in holes (192) in the brush (16, 18) with the possibility of sliding parallel to the axis (X16, X18) of rotation of the brush.
