[origin: WO2013000875A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for temporary dust and/or moisture protection for current-carrying connecting means, containing a standard appliance plug which can be connected to a standard appliance plug socket which is a constituent part of an electrical connection cable or other connecting means. According to the invention, the standard appliance plug is surrounded by a housing which is open in the insertion direction and which has an attachment flange for accommodating a circumferential sealing means. The housing has means for attachment to or in a device which is intended to be supplied with electrical energy. Furthermore, the extent of the housing wall in the insertion direction and the clearance between the wall inner face and the standard appliance plug is such that the standard plug socket can be introduced without obstruction. The standard plug socket is integrated or accommodated in a sealing housing which is open in the insertion direction, wherein the inner contour of the sealing housing is designed to complement the contour of the housing wall of the standard plug housing in such a way that, during the insertion process, both the electrical connection is established and the sealing housing of the plug socket forms a close interlocking connection and comes into contact with the standard plug housing, wherein the housing wall is surrounded on the outside.
