Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2610193A2] There is described a gluing unit (100) comprising a glue roller (101) for applying an adhesive pattern to labels being fed to a gluing station; a stationary adhesive distributor bar (102) adapted to dispense adhesive on the lateral surface of the glue roller (101); an adhesive scraper (109) for removing the excess adhesive and smoothing the surface of the adhesive applied on the lateral surface; and a support structure (116) for supporting the stationary adhesive distributor bar (102) and the adhesive scraper (109) in operative coupling with the glue roller (101); the rotation axis of glue roller (101) substantially identifies (see Figure 4), with stationary adhesive distributor bar (102), a symmetry plan (S) of the support structure (116); the support structure (116) defining at least two seats (117a, 117b) arranged symmetrically with respect to the symmetry plan (S) and adapted to receive and support the adhesive scraper (109), so that the gluing unit (100) can be assembled in either right-hand or left-hand configuration.
