[origin: WO2013004959A2] The present invention relates to a method of building a structure in which earthworks are used to prepare an area of ground (2) intended to accommodate said structure; a load-spreading mat (1) is created by adding compacted material within said area; and said structure is built on top of said load-spreading mat (1). Such a method is characterized in that it involves, during the creation of said mat (1), introducing a reinforcement (10) that is meshed during the compacting of said material.
