[origin: WO2013004210A1] The invention relates to a method for testing the quality of a vacuum in a package, especially in the food industry, comprising the following steps: an actuating unit excites a wall of the vacuum package to oscillate; the oscillations of the wall excited to oscillate are measured by means of a measuring device to produce a measurement signal; said measurement signal is used to determine a quality parameter by comparison with reference data, said quality parameter being correlated with a degree of vacuumization of the vacuum package and the degree of vacuumization being a measure of a pressure difference between an internal pressure in the interior of the vacuum package and an external pressure acting upon the vacuum package from the exterior.
