Abstract (en)

The method involves subjecting contaminant (V) with dry ice for cooling and embrittling the contaminant, where the dry ice is produced by a device (10) for removing the contaminant from a surface (O). The embrittled contaminant is removed by mechanical removal by a brush (5) of the device. The brush is moved by the device for acting on the contaminant. Liquid carbon dioxide in a dry ice forming region (30) is expanded for producing the dry ice so that a mixture of the dry ice and gaseous carbon dioxide is obtained. The mixture in the dry ice forming region is expanded by a turbine (2). An independent claim is also included for a device for removing contaminant from a surface.

Verfahren und Vorrichtung (10) zum Entfernen einer Verunreinigung (V) von einer Oberfläche (O), bei dem die Verunreinigung (V) vorzugsweise lediglich zum Abkühlen und Verspröden der Verunreinigung (V) mit Trockeneis beaufschlagt wird und die versprödete Verunreinigung (V) durch mechanisches Abtragen mit einem zusätzlichen Mittel (5) zum mechanischen Abtragen entfernt wird.
