Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014056765A1] The present invention relates to a method for treating substrates, comprising the steps of cleaning the substrate surface with a melamine foam and activating the cleaned substrate surface. The present invention further relates to the use of a melamine foam to remove silicone contamination on substrates. The method according to the invention is particularly advantageous when cleaning laminated safety glass panes as it is possible to remove silicone residue adhering to glass of this type simply and quickly. By selecting a suitable activation means it is also possible to perform the steps of cleaning, detecting and activating within a single operation. The method according to the invention is thus characterized by significant simplification and acceleration of the method for cleaning surfaces used in the prior art.
